Group photo time, say 'Cheese!'

The National Organization of Minority Architecture Students at Virginia Tech held a lively alumni networking reception the day before the 2025 Virginia Tech School of Architecture and School of Design Career Day. Students, alumni, and several VANOMA committee chairs and board members joined together at The Maroon Door in Downtown Blacksburg to talk architecture, careers, and education. NOMAS at Virginia Tech was joined by Keynote Speaker Lawrence Scarpa, Dean Lu Liu, and Director Jim Bassett.

A group photo of 6 people, all members of VANOMA, standing in two tiers, two people in the back and four in the front, smiling looking at the camera.

VANOMA loves connecting with their Virginia NOMAS chapters and empowering the next generation of designers, architects, and creatives. We would not be able to fulfill our mission without our incredible students and all of the work they do to amplify justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion in architectural education. Thank you to NOMAS at VT for a wonderfully coordinated and flawlessly executed event!

If you are interested in getting connected with our Virginia NOMAS chapters at Virginia Tech, Hampton University, James Madison University, and University of Virginia, contact our liaison, Brian Gore.

Red and Yellow tickets are laid out on a table next to an attendance sheet. The hands and arms of two people checking guests into the event are partially visible on the upper and lower left of the image.
Thank you NOMAS at VT for a wonderfully coordinated and flawlessly executed event!
