My grandparents were educators who had a positive impact on the people of their communities. They inspired me to use my chosen profession of architecture to impact my surroundings.
Ian Vaughan, AIA, NOMA was born and raised in Charlottesville, VA. He is a 2007 graduate of Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Architecture and is a licensed architect in the Commonwealth of Virginia. He is an architect for Clark Nexsen in Virginia Beach and his work experience spans more than 13 years in both the private and public sector. Ian has served on the Downtown Design Committee for the City of Portsmouth since 2012. In 2018, Ian was appointed by the Governor to serve on the Art and Architectural Review Board for the Commonwealth of Virginia. Outside of work, Ian is also involved with VANOMA, AIA Hampton Roads Young Architects Forum and the AIA Emerging Leaders in Architecture Honors Academy.
